System i Resource (Magic xpi 3.x)
The System i Resource Setting window contains the following parameters (parameters in bold are mandatory):

IP Address
|
The IBM i server's IP address.
You can either enter the server's IP address, or click  to open the Environment Variables List. Here, you can select an environment variable to use as the server's IP address.

User
|
The user name for the IBM i system.
You can either enter the user name, or click to open the Environment Variables List. Here, you can select an environment variable to use as a user name.

Note:
|
Multiple sessions to the same server with a different user login are not supported. Magic xpi takes the first session to the server that it finds.

|
Password
|
The user password for the IBM i system.
You can either enter the password, or click to open the Environment Variables List. Here, you can select an environment variable to use as a password.

A password entered as an environment variable is masked by asterisks.

Note:

The first System i resource's user details are always used in the project even if different resources are attached in different steps for the same IBM i server.

The System i resource also gives you the following button:

Validate
|
Click this button to verify that the connection to the IBM i server is valid. You will receive a message indicating that the connection is established, or an error message if the connection failed.
